This song began with the ukulele—but not the breezy, beachside version. I wanted it to sound twitchy and restless, with a personality that felt more like a nervous heartbeat than a traditional melody. I used sharp, percussive strumming to give it a tense, rhythmic drive. That quirky pulse became the backbone of the entire song.

🧪 Finding the Right Sounds

Once the ukulele groove was in place, I layered in textures to build a vivid, off-kilter soundscape. Horns brought in a theatrical edge, while percussion and sitar added layers of unpredictability. Every element was chosen for its character—I wanted it to sound like a world built from mismatched but oddly charming pieces.
